Born in Rome, Georgia in 1946, David Eugene Henry originally studied architecture before moving on to the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Paris where he discovered his passion for art. He went on to study under a number of famous artists around the world including American painter Philip Pearlstien. In the early 70’s, Henry received three grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. His work has been featured in collections in many museums and art institutions including the Albany Museum of Art, the Louisiana State Museum, and Huntsville Museum. This piece is a recent work from his personal collection. Framed by the artist in a vintage French frame, Henry’s brilliant use of a palette knife gives this piece movement and texture that captivates the viewer and is Too wonderful for words.
