Hermann Fischer was born in Heilbronn , Germany in 1944.   In his early career, he was successful businessman In Chicago and Los Angeles.  So much so that he was able to retire at 43.  After years of travel, he began painting in 2004.  He painted both large abstract paintings and smaller, more Impressionistic desert scenes.  Many of his large abstracts are popular in his native Germany.  In 2013, he won the Palm Springs Art Museum Preston Ormsby Memorial Award for one of his abstract paintings similar to this.
