Paul Lorenz was born in Chicago in 1961.  After graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology, he studied oil painting at the School of Fine Art in Chicago, International School of Art in Italy, and the University of California in Berkeley, CA.  He has been an artist in residence in China, the UK, and France.  He has exhibited in galleries throughout the US and around the world including Australia, Singapore, England, and Sweden.  This piece, entitled ‘Red Circle’, was painted in 2005 and was originally sold at a gallery in San Francisco, for $1100.  Since then, works by Lorenz have escalated in value with larger pieces selling for up to $16,000.  We felt this work was simple, yet complex and Too powerful to pass up for TooGays.
