An opportunity to own a spectacular piece of history, artist Gilbert Valentin (1928-2001) was a highly regarded French modernist who had his own gallery, Galerie Les Archanges in Vallauris, France, from 1950 to the 1970's. This overlapped when Picasso worked in Vallauris where the two became friends. His work is collected worldwide and commands prices in the many thousands of dollars. Even lithographs start at $750. This piece is a rare signed original gouache and watercolor on paper on board. We had it re-framed under plexiglass with a simple black wood frame by one of our master framers. A fantastic representation of Modernism that is Too perfect for any collector of this period, yet timeless in its design.
