This spectacular watercolor on Arches moulded paper is striking both in size and execution.  Signed “Snyder 89”, we have yet to track down the artist, but he/she is clearly a great talent.  It is unusual to see a watercolor of this scale.  When we found it, it had clearly been in storage for many years.  The original frame and mat had water damage, but the actual watercolor was untouched and perfectly vibrant.  We had our master framer float the piece on a new white mat that highlights the detail of the hand-made paper edges.  We chose a simple black frame with an acrylic inset to focus the attention on the art itself.  It’s a rare opportunity to own a large-scale format watercolor from a highly skilled artist that is Too arresting to properly show in photographs.
